Lydia Courteille - Let theJewelry Do the Talking

When I arrived in Paris, I had no schedule to keep, save for a late-morning Wednesday appointment with the jewelry designer, Lydia Courteille. I was staying in the Parisian suburb of Saint Cloud and my friend, whom I was visiting, accompanied me to Ms. Courteille’s dark, velvety headquarters on Rue St. Honoré. Outside the shop, there was a large display window filled with Ms. Courteille’s creations, accompanied with a sign, in English, that said, Please do not photograph.

LEVEL JEANS: Separating the Men from the Boys.

Gentlemen, I’ve seen a simultaneous upwards and downwards trend amongst you all recently. A fashion-forward few are consciously selecting clothes that are tailored well and made of excellent material – quality alone can render a piece truly timeless. Then there are those lost souls who look like a Duckie and Spicoli love child (I am starting the ban on headbands starting….now). Level jeans are for the former and they’ll leave you with enough dinero to wine and dine your lady.

The Latest addition to the Level brand, Level jeans USA boasts high quality vintage construction with a tailored fit. They mix specialty imported fabrics and unique washes for every style jean from traditional straight leg to skinny five pocket.

Many times you hear of women choosing outfits that transition well from work to a night out on the town; now men have options that can transition well from the office to a NBA playoff game and to the club. For example, the jeans in this picture can be handsomely paired with a crisp white high Korean collar dress shirt, vest and jacket with some John Lobbs for the office. After work, just lose the jacket, unbutton your shirt a bit and substitute your Lobbs with some white Paul Smith Coopers for the game and evening.

The Latest New Balance 460's for the Ladies

Its official, after getting my hands on the hottest new kicks from New Balance I now stand neck and neck with Imelda Marcos. The latest New Balance 460’s are super comfortable, breathable and incredibly adorable. I was going to get a white and pink pair but opted for the silver and pink which will go great with my new tennis skirt for the summer (not that I have any tennis skills to speak of), at least I’ll look fly.

Anthracite Jewelry Speaks Volumes in NYC

On my never-ending quest for what is fly I have definitely found my new weakness, Anthracite bracelets. I wanted something strong that would make a statement and still look feminine with my tight new soft-leather jacket with 3/4 sleeves. My Anthracite bracelet is the essential finishing touch to my look.

Based in Valenza Italy, Anthracite is a refreshing new concept in jewelry design; precious metal serves as the blank sheet of paper for the elegantly engraved quotes of famous writers and films. Depending on the desired effect, the base metal silver is treated in either Rhodium (the most precious metal in the world) or Gold. These simply shaped bracelets, rings and necklaces realize Anthracite’s goal to unite aesthetic beauty with content. Perhaps the wisdom of Oscar Wilde and Cervantes isn’t your thing, visit http://www.anthracitejewels.com/ and create your own unique piece with your favorite Nas lyric.

Previously unavailable in the states,Anthracite is opening their New York store now in April 2009. You heard it here first on URB.com
